Proverbs 9:10 - "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."

The idea of a faith-based blog has been on my heart for awhile. The idea first occured to me as I searched for more purpose and value-added work to do for the kingdom of God. It was never meant to be a works-based feeling of accomplishment that brought attention to myself. I simply wanted to get the truth of God's Word out to more people, that they may know Him and put their faith in Him. After years of prayer, devotion, and submission to God, the vision of a blog is now a reality.

Understanding Your Purpose

As men, we often seek out purpose through a variety of different means. In today's world, it becomes so easy to follow the worldly portrayals of what manhood is all about. The world promises fame, riches, power, and status often at the expense of our souls. Biblical manhood is true manhood. This blog will focus on Biblical men and study timeless Godly wisdom about what it means to be a man after God's own heart. We all have a purpose, and that purpose is to serve the Lord unwaveringly and in full faith. I am excited to go on this journey with you.

Living Out Your Purpose

Once you have a clearer understanding of your purpose, the next step is to live it out. When you know without question what you want to do for a career, you begin making plans to make that dream a reality. When you want to start a new hobby, you study it and begin to make it happen. Living out your purpose involves making choices that align with your values and beliefs. Sometimes, the changes in your life are instantaneous. For many of us, the changes take years. Breaking old habits and starting new ones are not easy tasks. Arguably the best advice I have ever received went something like this: "Today, begin to be the man that you want your wife to marry, your kids to look up to, and your family to be led by."

It's never too late to begin making changes that align you more with your desired future self. But it all begins with fearing God and submitting to His will for your life.

Daily Practices to Align with Your Purpose

  • Prayer: Regularly communicate with God to seek guidance and clarity, thanking Him for all that He has done, is doing, and will do.

  • Scripture Reading: Spend time in the Word to gain wisdom and insight. Gaining knowledge of the Lord helps us know His voice and His desire for our lives.

  • Reflect on Your Actions: Consider whether your daily choices align with your purpose. To repent means to feel such a deeply profound regret over your lifestyle that you begin to turn from those things which are unholy and to those things which are holy. Fixing our eyes on Christ allows us to know what is true, good, and holy, so that we can begin pursuing Him.

Looking Ahead

Stay on the lookout for new updates from The Armory moving forward. I anticipate at least one weekly blog post with the possibility of more depending on the directive from God.

As you reflect on your own journey, consider what steps you can take today to align your life with your purpose. Whether it’s through prayer, scripture reading, or reflection, every action can lead you closer to fulfilling the calling God has placed on your life.
